Privacy notice
Last updated 1 October 2026. This notice explains how we handle personal data collected through this website, in line with the Botswana Data Protection Act, 2018.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by LBM Agrichems and Tsatemo Distributors (Pty) Ltd, trading as LBM Engineering Solutions and LBM Energies ("LBM", "we", "us"), a company registered in Botswana. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this site.
2. What we collect
- Enquiry details you send us by email, including through the quote form: name, company, email, phone number, the service you are interested in and your message. The quote form does not send anything itself; it opens your own email app with the message filled in, and nothing reaches us until you press Send.
- Your consent choices, stored in a cookie so we can respect them.
- Technical data our hosting provider processes to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, browser type and request logs.
- Anonymous usage statistics, only if you allow analytics.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, sensitive personal data such as health information or identity numbers through the form.

We do not sell personal data, use it for automated decisions about you, or send marketing without your consent.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our instructions:
- Vercel Inc. hosts the website and, if you allow analytics, provides privacy-friendly visit counts.
- Our email provider receives and stores the enquiries you email to us.
We may also disclose data where required by law or to protect our legal rights.
5. Transfers outside Botswana
Our hosting and email providers may process data outside Botswana, including in the United States and the European Union. Where we transfer personal data outside Botswana we do so as permitted by the Data Protection Act, 2018, relying on adequate safeguards in our providers' contractual terms.
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 24 months, then deleted.
- Enquiries that lead to a contract: kept with project records for as long as the law requires.
- Consent cookie: 12 months, after which we ask again.
- Form draft: until you send the form, withdraw functional consent or clear your browser storage.
7. Security
The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS connections, with strict browser security headers. The quote form stores nothing on our servers, and access to enquiry emails is limited to staff who need it.
8. Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2018 you have the right to:
- be told how your personal data is used, as in this notice;
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate data or delete data we no longer need;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting earlier processing;
- complain to the Information and Data Protection Commission.

9. Cookies and storage
We ask before setting anything that is not strictly necessary. "Reject all" and "Accept all" are equally available, and you can change your choice at any time with , also in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent deletes the stored draft and stops analytics.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics: "Accept all" will not switch analytics on, although you can still choose to enable it yourself in the preferences.
